The Mummіfіed 2,000-Yeаr-Old Irіsh Mаn Found іn а Bog: A Fаscinаting Dіscovery.

This is Old Croghan Man, a bog body found in Ireland in June 2003. He was a tall man in his twenties with neat nails, who died over 2000 years ago. He has been preserved due to the acidity and lack of oxygen in a peat bog.

He’s also missing a head and all his lower body it seems he was killed by a stab wound to the chest, then decapitated and cut in half. His nipples were sliced – though this may be post mortem damage in the bog. There are various theories about why this happened – was he a king, punished for failing crops?

Analysis has shown that he had a regular rich diet of meat – though his last meal was only buttermilk and cereal. No clothing was found but he did wear a bracelet of leather with bronze decoration around one upper arm.
