The Curse of the Necklace (2024)

When Laura Davis is gifted an antique necklace, her daughters uncover a sinister force hidden within that threatens to destroy everything they love.

Fan Review: While the horror genre certainly has its share of forgettable entries, The Curse of the Necklace plumbs new depths of cinematic disappointment. Every aspect, from its abysmal script and wooden performances to its utterly uninspired direction, fails spectacularly. Despite its supposed 1960s setting, the film’s anachronistic feel, extending beyond mere wardrobe choices, renders its temporal placement utterly meaningless. Swap out the bell bottoms for skinny jeans and toss in a few smartphones, and you’d have a story indistinguishable from countless contemporary, and equally dreadful, low-budget flicks. And the writing? A truly uninspired rehash of tired tropes, compounded by dialogue so clunky it actively detracts from any semblance of suspense.
In short, The Curse of the Necklace is an experience best avoided. Consider this my emphatic and final word on this cinematic catastrophe: steer clear.
